Maria Rebora Di Piazza | |||||
The painter and printmaker Maria Rebora Di Piazza was born in La Spezia in 1925. During her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where she lived for over 30 years she trained with the following teachers: Ferruccio Ferrazzi for mural Painting and Mino Maccari for print making. Later on she studied etching with Lino Bianchi Barriviera and Valeria Vecchia. For many years her main activity has been concerned with painting and coincided with her arrival in Tuscany in the sixties. Her work is inspired by the farming life in the Tuscan country side.
Maria Rebora Di Piazza has taught art in public schools and has organized private courses on creative stimulation of psychologically disturbed children. Her most intense activity in printmaking has taken place from 1992, when she had an exibition in San Gimignano at the gallery "La Costarella". Her artistic collaboration with (April 1995) printmaker Walter Sarfatti has coincided with the initiative of opening together the print workshop "La stamperia" in San Gimignano (Via San Matteo, 88) where they produce and selI their own work. |
